A Note About Coat Colors and Size
Part of the testing we do for our dogs does test for coat color, however, it isn’t guaranteed. What we do focus on is health and temperament. As your puppy grows and matures, you may notice fascinating changes in its coat color. Like humans and other baby animals, dogs experience color transformations as they transition into adulthood. While not all puppies undergo dramatic color changes, some may surprise you with a different texture and hue. Initially, your puppy’s coat is typically softer and finer than its adult form, providing warmth and camouflage. The shorter hairs require less grooming, making it easier for the mother dog to keep her little ones clean. Around four to six months of age, your puppy sheds its puppy coat, gradually revealing its adult coat. This process can take time, with some breeds not fully developing their final adult coat until around three years. Witness the captivating journey of your furry companion as their coat color evolves below. While we do our best to estimate your puppy’s size based on the parents’ size and the sizes of previous litters, it’s important to keep in mind that these are merely estimates and not guarantees. Factors such as genetics, nutrition, and overall health can influence growth patterns, leading to variations from our predictions. Like humans, dogs can have unique growth trajectories, and exceptions can occur.
